Resignation Letter Example No. 1

Here's our first sample resignation letter. It's short, simple and to the point, ideal when you're addressing the letter to an HR or Personnel Department with which you don't have a close working relationship.

Dear (Mr/Ms/Miss Name or X Department),

As per the terms and conditions of my contract of employment, I hereby give you (put your notice period here) weeks notice of my intention to leave my position as x (insert your position here).

My last day of employment will be (insert date here).

I look forward to hearing from you as to the arrangements for my departure.

Resignation Letter Example No. 2

Here's our second resignation letter example. Use this when you want your employer to let you go immediately, without having to work your notice.

Dear (Mr/Ms/Miss Name or X Department),

Please take this letter as written confirmation of my intention to leave your employment as (insert job role here).

I understand that my notice period is (insert your official notice period here) but I would like to join my new employer as soon as possible. This being the case, I'd like to ask you to waive my notice period and relieve me of my duties immediately. I will of course ensure my duties are handed over prior to my leaving.

I trust this is acceptable and look forward to hearing from you very soon.

Resignation Letter Example No. 3

Here's our third resignation letter example. Use this when you're writing to someone you know, such as your boss and when you want to leave on good terms (perhaps leaving a door open should you want to return at a later date).

I hope you understand my reasons and can wish me well.
